The Local Dive

A dive bar is a type of bar or pub. Dive bars generally have a relaxed and informal atmosphere—they are often referred to by local residents as "neighborhood bars," where people in the neighborhood gather to drink and socialize.

The business idea for our company came about 20 years ago from one of the current partners and was successful and very much well ahead of its time in terms of providing a service to a difficult industry. The premise is that we essentially walk in and take over a kitchen and/or bar and give it some excitement and rejuvenation to give people their place to “Escape From Reality”. The hospitality industry has many places come and go each year many of which are due to “burn out” from the Owners, Management, Staff and even the Clientele, unlike the reality shows on TV we do not come in for a week or couple of days to do a flash and dazzle…we come in not only to make the change but stay to continue with the growth. We have a set standard menu and operating principles that have proven success which we bring into our new home along with an “Operator” that has a vested interest in its’ success. We are not a franchise as we pride ourselves upon customizing each location to the local neighborhood while maintaining the integrity and vision of “The Local Dive” and providing our Operators the freedom and independence to continue to thrive and be successful.

We continue to look for locations across Ontario and as we build our team we are continuously searching out those individuals that share the passion for being an Entrepreneur without the financial roadblocks that stifle so many great people.
